Black Styrax Charred Incense Resin Liquidambar Eastern Mediterranean 25g

Black Styrax, also known as Storax Calamitos or Liquidambar, is a very rich and unusual incense resin. It is sweet and balsamic, slightly floral and spicy, with a peculiar styrene-like aroma.

While Liquidambar may not appeal to everyone, this unusual incense resin is usually used to enhance another resin when used in small amounts rather than on its own.

Black Styrax is made by boiling the bark of the Storax Calamitos tree found in the Eastern Mediterranean, pressing it to remove the water, then using alcohol extraction to produce pure resin. This resin is then soaked back into the charcoaled bark.
